Find What You Are Looking For

There are a number of ways to find the music you are looking for:

To find a particular artist you can either:

•  Select the "Artist" radio button on the top panel, type their name or part of their name into the text field to the right, then click the "GO" button. Up to 10 albums are displayed per page - use the “previous page” and “next page” buttons at the top or bottom of this album list to see remaining albums. You can also SORT this list alphabetically by Artist Name, Album Title, or Label.
•  Click on "ARTIST A - Z" on the left panel and search by letter. At the bottom of the list, you will find a "next" button, or you can skip pages by selecting a page number in the drop-down list and clicking "GO". This will bring you a list of artists which you can browse by letter. If there is more than one page per letter you can use the "next page" button or pull down list to continue browsing.

•  Click on "ALBUMS A - Z" on the left panel and search by letter. This will bring you a list of albums which you can browse by letter. If there is more than one page per letter you can use the "next page" button or pull down list to continue browsing.

•  Select the "Track" radio button on the top panel, type the track name or part of its name into the text field to the right, then click the "GO" button.Up to 10 albums are displayed per page - use the “previous page” and “next page” buttons at the top or bottom of this album list to see remaining albums. You can also SORT this list alphabetically by Artist Name, Album Title, or Label.

To view the catalogue of a record label:

•  Select the "Label" radio button on the top panel, type the lable name or part of its name into the text field to the right, then click the "GO" button. Up to 10 albums are displayed per page - use the “previous page” and “next page” buttons at the top or bottom of this album list to see remaining albums, or use the drop down list to skip to particular page and click "GO". You can also SORT this list alphabetically by Artist Name, Album Title, or Label.

You can also browse by genre:

•  There is a list of the most popular genres on the left panel. Selecting one of these will display up to 10 albums per page. Use the “previous page” and “next page” buttons at the top or bottom of this album list to see remaining albums or use the drop down list to skip to particular page and click "GO". You can also SORT this list alphabetically by Artist Name, Album Title, Track Title or Label. as well as full genre list, available when you click on “ALL GENRES”. Selecting a genre will bring you to list of all albums in this genre, displaying up to10 albums per page.

Listen to Sample Clips

On each product page you will will see a table with the complete track listing. On the left next to the track number is a PLAY button. Click this to listen to a 30 second sample clip of each track. This should launch your default media player. If you have difficulty hearing the clips your may need to change the file type preferences in your player to include M3U files.

You can also listen to samples from the track and album charts by clicking on the "Listen" icon.

Buy Muisc

Each product page has the option to buy the album or individual tracks. To buy the album, click the BUY ALBUM button on the blue panel next to the product details. To select individual tracks click the check boxes in the "ADD" column on the right of the track listing table then click the BUY SELECTED TRACKS button. These are placed in a shopping cart to enable you to continue to browse the shop and select other music files.

Once you have completed your selection, you will be passed to the Worldpay secure internet payments processing system, where you will be able to pay for your music files.

There are two methods of payment:

•  You can pay directly for the music that you have selected.
•  You can purchase credits to enable you to make multiple purchases over a period of time.

Because internet based financial transaction costs are very expensive, minimum purchase values are £7.99 and USD 9.99. This is caused by the checks made to ensure that there is no fraudulent use of credit or debit cards.

Download

Once you have completed your purchase you will be taken straight to your download page. You will also be emailed a link to this page so that you can download at a later time. This will be sent to the email address you specified on your registration page.

How long does it take to download a song?

To download an average song (4-6 MB), it takes:

•  Broadband, using T1, DSL, ISDN or a cable modem – under 1 minute.
•  Dial up access using a 56Kbps ,modem – 15-20 minutes.

The actual download time will vary, depending on the length of the song, your system configuration, site traffic and network traffic.

How does the batch download option work?

The batch download option allows you to download up to six tracks at a time. You will need a piece of software to unzip the file, such as Winzip or Stuffit Expander. For a free, easy to use unzipper for PC try zipgenius .

How much hard drive disk space do I need?

Each song you download will occupy 4 to 6 MB of disk space. This is a small amount in the context of modern computers, which are supplied with a hard disk generally greater than 20GB.

Your disk space requirements depend on the number of songs you want to add to your music library.

How do I transfer the music files from my computer to a digital music player?

Please see the instructions provided with your digital music player to explain how this is undertaken.

•  For MP3 files, you will be able to transfer them to an MP3 player, including an IPOD.

•  For WMA files, you will be able to transfer them to WMA compatible digital music players. This does not include the IPOD.

Many digital music players play both MP3 and WMA files.


Can I transfer TradTunes music downloads from my computer to another computer?

MP3 files:

Yes, this can be done using transferring all license files to a designated folder on the additional computer via email, on CD, direct data cable or through a shared network.

Please remember that is illegal to share music files purchased under copyright. Abuse of this law means that the artists, labels and music industry do not receive compensation for the work they have produced, and this may impact on their ability to continue to produce music in the future.

WMA files:

You may back up your music to two additional computers. To back up music, you will need to make copies of both the song files and license files and transfer these to the new computer.


1. Copy and transfer song files

Copy song file(s) and transfer the to a designated music folder on another computer via email, on CD, direct data link or through a shared network.

2. Back up license files

Go to the Tools menu on Windows Media Player and click on License Management.

Choose the location to store the license backup files.

Click the "Back Up Now" button to save all your license files to this location.

3. View license files

License files are hidden by default until you change your folder viewing options. You must show hidden license files in order to transfer them to another computer.

Open the file where you placed your license backup files.

Go to the Tools menu and click Folder Options.

Select the View tab and click "Show hidden files and folders."

Click "OK."

4. Transfer licenses to a different computer

Copy your license backup files which are named drmv1key.bak, drmv1lic.bak, drmv2key.bak and drmv2lic.bak.

Transfer all license files to a designated music folder on the additional computer via email, on CD, direct data cable or through a shared network.

5. Restore licenses

You must restore the licenses on the new computer before you can play the songs.

Go to the Tools menu on Windows Media Player and click on “License Management”.

Point to the location where you saved the license files on the new computer.

Click "Restore Now" to allow Windows Media Player to access the licenses on the new computer.

Open the song to play it.


6. Additional information
